Melt-In-Your-Mouth Choccies

During the last year, I have excluded different things from my diet in an effort to find out if I was eating something that didn’t agree with my body. Whilst doing this, I have found some delicious recipes that are free from certain things. Since chocolate is without doubt a daily part my diet, I started to look at making my own with some of my favourite things, namely honey, coconut oil and almond butter. I came across this recipe. I can imagine that this recipe looks less than appealing to many of you and I REALLY wish there was a button on the screen you could push to eject a sample of chocolate! Trust me. TRY THESE! The result is an insane mouthful of chocolately coconuty nutty salty goodness that leaves you with smiling like a happy Buddha. The Great Dane swears by it. So it must be good 🙂

Takes about 7 minutes to make.

Recipe

  • 2 tbs almond butter
  • 3 tbs coconut oil
  • 2 tbs raw unsweetened cacao powder
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tbs raw honey
  • about 12 whole pecans (I use almonds)

 

Method:

Fill a pot with water and bring to the boil. Place all ingredients in a plastic bowl and then on top of the water. Stir until all ingredients have melted. Take a silicone case and put an almond in each mould (I’m sure an ice cube tray would also work fine. Fill each mould to near the top. Freeze.      NB: Keep in the freezer as these start to melt rapidly at room temp!
