One of many things the Swedes do SO right is giving you the permission to camp wherever you like. Apart from a few small rules, ‘allemandsretten’ – everymans right’ is a WONDERFUL concept for people like me who dislike (heavily) organised campsites – great for families and for people who like to have basic amenities like a hot shower and a sit-down loo. For the other half who prefer the bush to the loo and dirty matted hair to clean locks, this is scrumptious.
We pulled up into a small harbour and set our tent up, with noone else in sight. The long summer days energise in an intoxicating way. The clear, cool water is the perfect place for a bit of skinny dipping. And there are plenty of options for kayaking, cycling running, anything really.
Wishing you a refreshing summer.
